Eat your hearts out Ewan and Charley- you guys cut some serious tracks and it was an absolute blast to see it on the big screen last night in Wellywood. Inspiring, epic and a true embodiment of the good all kiwi ‘can do attitude!!!!’ Nice one…………… enjoy your next adventure.... Never let the hummm of a 250cc/650cc engine leave your soul or the smell of burnt rubber be far away. Be cool Emily O’Leary

Watched the DVD last night - well done, excellent record and a wonderful adventure. I worked in southern Africa in my 30s and know many of the spots you travelled through. A refreshing style and contrast to the Morgan / McGregor rides with their unlimited support and resources - shows what can be done on a shoestring.

         Bruce :: June 04 2008

Hey guys the premier on the 1st June was awesome and the DVD rocks. Keep in touch Nick. Bruce W

Hey fellas I’m a mate of Pauls, looking good so far hey! A mate and I drove CT to Kenya a couple of years ago in a Kombi with a carne for the relevant countries and just thought I’d let you know that we heard (first hand) that some years back Egypt would be like yeah you can bring your vehicle in but once your there you learn that it has to exit via the same port as entry or it’s big 000 dollars? Anyway that’s just what we heard then and it did occur prior 2000 so thought I’d pass it on. Will be interested to see what happens and if there’s no dramas, assume you’ve met people who’ve done it by now and always hear about it so enjoy!!

         Patrick Sparks :: December 02 2006

Good to see you boys are supporting Movember and spreading awareness of mens’ health through the african continent. We went out for dinner last night and had some fine New Zealand cuisine: Oysters, scallops, salmon, mussels, marinated fish, crab, duck, lamb, ham , pork, salads galore. There was desert too, heaps of chocolate. There was a chocolate marlin statue and a butter mermaid sculpture too. Any way hope that the african food is nice too and that you aren’t missing the kaimoana too much. Chow.

Hey Anne, thanks for the message. I hope that you had a good time with all the boys home and that Tom is recovering well. Tanzania has been great so far. Our Safari experience and the whole Lion eating episode quite bizaar and intruiging and a bit gruesome. Nate, our beards need all the motivation they can get!

Hi guys. It is awesome to read of your adventures. this is the vicarious o.e so many of u never did ... and more. You really seem to be exoeriencing the nitty gritty and seeing real life... life changing no doubt. what you are seeing and doing makes labour party overspending and other political scandals here seem so trivial!!!Pleased that you are keeping safe an healthy. You are all looking great. it is good to have Nick home from Akld for the weekend to keep an eye on us all. Tom has just spent a few days in hospital with heart trouble, a virus that got to his heart.So nick has come home to give him some brotherly advice on clean living. Matt continues to aim high with romantic interests right from his Drama teacher down to various 5th and 6th form girls. Take care you all Ann

From swimming dangerously close to hippos to breaking palm nuts off the trees by hucking logs at them, you guys are on your way to one incredible adventure. Vic Falls will be amazing, if you havent already been through there, you should definitely check out the River Boarding for an ultimate thrill. Keep updating so we can keep reading. -The American student and the South African girl.

Hey fullas awsome adventures and photos in Botswana! The salt pans looked amazing and all those animals... I just wanta pat them. Just saying a big yo from me and my flatties; Tom, Huddy Hamo, Jing, Pete and Scaife (twaddle knows em). The weather and is warming up a bit here so the snow season is winding down and the surf is a huge distraction to all the uni work. You guys should see if you can surf somewhere where no one has ever surfed... maybe make a board out of a tree or something. Hang loose bra's Mad Mike

This coming sunday... Final of the Wellington Sunday league; The Sunday Blazers vs Arakura!!!! Sunday Blazes surived an extra time penalty shoot out against the resurgent Glamrocks. 1-1 full time score. John the Goaly saved the day. Arakura knocked the bastards at Porirua with defining 3-1 result. Should be a fun fun game with no arsehole teams within sight. We have appointed a new manager in John the Goalie, and a new captain in Chrispy the Chicken. Keep up the good work in Africa!

cartons of cigarettes useful for bribing border guards; 1USD (or other token denomination) useful as a prize to street urchins to carry out menial tasks or find a lost object; always have paper and sandal (for crushing cockies) when visiting little boys room; don't take photo's of/film soldiers without asking permisison; only drink the water after sterilizing with copious amounts of alcamahol; you only see 5% of what sees you; AK muzzles look like railway tunnels when pointed in your face but you do get used to it (if the flangey bit on the front of the clip is down there's no round in the chamber . . . or is that when it's up . .); enjoy the food, culture and atmosphere; try to learn at least one local word/phrase a day; 99% of anything is common sense; have fun.
